The inaugural CICA Member States Workers' Skills Competition was held in Guangzhou from June 30 to July 4, 2026. This marked the first international skills competition for workers organized within the framework of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA). The event was hosted by the All-China Federation of Trade Unions and organized by the China Workers' Centre for International Exchange, the Guangzhou Municipal People's Government, and the Guangdong Provincial Federation of Trade Unions.
Competition as a Bridge: Artisans from 23 Countries Gather in Guangzhou
The competition, themed "Mutual Trust, Mutual Learning, and Crafting the Future Together," featured three events—masonry, UAV assembly and maintenance, and intelligent inspection of high-voltage cables—spanning the fields of traditional infrastructure, emerging technologies, and energy security. Approximately 80 representatives from 23 CICA member and observer states gathered in Guangzhou. Chinese, English, and Russian served as the working languages, facilitating skill exchanges among contestants from various countries. Alongside the competition, technical exchanges and skill demonstrations were held to showcase China’s vocational skill standards, vocational education models, and equipment manufacturing technologies to CICA nations.

Cable length measurement and route tracing constitute one of the core modules in the high-voltage cable intelligent operation and maintenance competition. The XHGX507C pipeline locator and XHGG502A cable fault tester, manufactured by Xi'an Xu&hui Electromechanical Technology Co., Ltd., were designated by the organizers as the official equipment for this module. The stable performance of both devices during the competition earned unanimous acclaim from contestants and the judging panel alike.
