The insulation and semi-conductive shielding layers of the wrapped cable joint are both made of self-adhesive tape with rubber as the base material. It is mainly suitable for the termination and intermediate joints of medium and low voltage extruded insulated cables of 35kV and below.

Prefabricated cable joints are cable joints made from prefabricated cable accessories. These accessories are made of silicone rubber or EPDM rubber and consist of a series of attachments that provide the necessary shape for the cable joint. During field installation, simply slip the accessories over the cable insulation, simplifying the installation process. Because prefabricated cable accessories must correspond one-to-one with the cable's outer diameter, there are many specifications and models available. Currently, prefabricated cable accessories are used on cables of various voltage levels. The internal structure of the cable joint is basically the same as that of a cold-shrink cable joint.
