Cable withstand voltage tests are divided into power frequency withstand voltage tests and DC withstand voltage tests. These two tests are the primary methods for verifying the overvoltage tolerance of electrical appliances, electrical equipment, electrical devices, and electrical circuits.

The DC withstand voltage test for cables is conducted at four times the rated voltage for one minute. Therefore, the DC withstand voltage test voltage for a 10kV cable is 40kV. The AC power frequency withstand voltage test is a destructive test conducted at 2.5 times the rated voltage for one minute. Therefore, the AC power frequency withstand voltage test voltage is 25kV.

The power frequency withstand voltage test for cables is conducted at two to several times the rated voltage of the test equipment, but must not be less than 1000V. The withstand voltage time varies depending on the main insulation medium: 1 minute for equipment with porcelain and liquid insulation, 5 minutes for equipment with organic solid insulation, 3 minutes for voltage transformers, and 10 minutes for oil-immersed power cables.

The DC withstand voltage test allows the leakage current-voltage characteristic curve to be plotted by measuring the leakage current at different test voltages. By conducting withstand voltage tests on electrical equipment, local insulation defects, moisture, and aging can be detected.

The DC high-voltage generator utilizes PWM pulse-width modulation technology and high-power IGBT devices. Based on electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) principles, special shielding, isolation, and grounding measures are employed. This ensures high-quality, portable, and high-capacity discharge at rated voltage during DC high-voltage testing, complying with EMC principles.

The variable-frequency resonance tester adjusts the power supply frequency to achieve resonance between the reactor and the capacitor under test, generating high voltage and high current for the test product. It features multiple operating modes and is easy to operate. It also uses a 220V or 380V single-phase power supply, making it convenient for on-site power supply.
