The TDR cable fault pre-locator is a professional diagnostic instrument designed for measuring low resistance, short circuit, open circuit fault, high resistance leakage and high resistance flashover fault conditions in power cables, high frequency coaxial cables, local telephone cables, street lamp wiring and buried conductors across various materials, cross-sections and dielectric media.

This instrument is capable of detecting a wide range of cable faults including low resistance faults, short circuits, open circuits, high resistance leakage faults, and high resistance flashover faults. It works effectively across power cables, coaxial cables, telephone lines, street lighting circuits, and buried wiring of various cross-sections and dielectric materials.
The pre-locator has a maximum test distance of 60km with a detection depth of 2-5 meters. Rough measurement accuracy is ±10m (absolute) or 1% (relative), while fine measurement accuracy reaches ±0.2m for fixed point location, path tracing, and depth measurement.
The built-in micro-printer is fully integrated into the SCM operating platform. Users can print test waveforms, measurement data, and complete test reports directly from the instrument at any time using the push-button interface, eliminating the need for external printing equipment during field operations.
The instrument is equipped with a built-in 24V/7Ah DC power supply that provides up to 6 hours of continuous field operation. The device also supports direct 220V AC power input, and the battery can be recharged by switching to battery mode while connected to AC power.
The pre-locator supports multiple test methods including low voltage pulse, flashover, audio, acoustic-magnetic synchronization, valley value, peak, and electromagnetic induction methods. The instrument features a communication port for local data output to a PC, enabling further analysis and report generation.
