The XHHV515-8L is a tie-rod portable integrated high-voltage pulse generator designed specifically for low-voltage cable fault testing and DC withstand analysis at voltages up to 15kV. Delivering 900J discharge energy through an 8μF energy storage capacitor, it is optimized for the low-voltage distribution cable segment where 35kV-rated generators are oversized and impractical.

Integrating an energy storage capacitor, DC high-voltage source, and discharge ball gap into a single tie-rod form factor, the XHHV515-8L features a built-in 0–100 second adjustable time relay for precisely controlled impulse discharge intervals. Separate EMP (impulse) and DC (withstand) output terminals eliminate the need to reconfigure connections when switching between fault location and withstand voltage testing modes. A manual ball-gap discharge button allows operator-triggered impulses. Comprehensive automatic protection covers over-current (8mA/3s), over-voltage, and over-temperature (65°C).
