XHGG502 Cable Fault Pre-locator | Cable Fault Locator
XHGG502 is a portable cable fault pre-locator (cable fault tester) for measuring and analyzing the condition and fault distance of power cables. Built around an industrial-grade 10.1 inch touchscreen all-in-one computer, it combines signal filtering, acquisition, data processing and graphical waveform analysis to complete cable wave velocity measurement, cable length testing and cable fault distance testing, and it is supplied with a pulse coupler for the multiple pulse method.
Designed For: Cable manufacturers’ factory inspection and type-test laboratories, cable commissioning and handover acceptance test teams, power cable research and quality control engineers, mining, oil, gas and heavy industry plant power cable maintenance crews, and electrical testing service providers that must verify cable length, wave velocity and pre-fault distance before repair.

Instrument Composition & On-Site Workflow
Complete Kit with Pulse Coupler
The set includes the cable fault tester, the pulse coupler, a single Q output line, a double Q input line, a sampler, coupler high-voltage lines A and B, a transparent grounding wire, the power cord and a USB communication cable, so the low-voltage pulse, high-voltage flashover and multiple pulse methods can all be performed on site.
High-Voltage Flashover with Sampler
In the high-voltage flashover method the sampler receives the signal reflected from the high-voltage signal onto the sampling ground and feeds it to the tester, so leakage and flashover high-resistance faults can be located as well.
Multiple Pulse Method with Coupler
When used with the pulse coupler, the multiple pulse method displays 8 sets of high and low voltage waveforms for easy comparison, greatly simplifying echo identification on site. The pulse coupler withstands up to DC 35kV.
USB Data Management
The tester stores over 8000 low-voltage pulse and high-voltage flashover records and over 250 multiple pulse records, all of which can be imported into the computer software via USB for archiving and analysis.
