XHHV535-4Z High Voltage Surge Generator | Cable Fault Locator
XHHV535-4Z is a portable high voltage surge generator built for impulse discharge fault testing of power cables of 35kV and below, and for DC withstand voltage testing of other electrical equipment. It integrates a DC high voltage source, an energy storage capacitor and a discharge ball gap in a single cabinet, fully replacing the traditional test transformer, operation box and pulse energy storage capacitor that together weigh more than 100kg. Compliant with DL/T846-2016 and DL/T474-2017, it is an ideal instrument for power cable fault detection.

Dual Working Modes
DC Withstand Voltage Mode
Powered by AC 220V and outputting a smooth 0 – 35kV DC voltage, this mode applies a stable high voltage to the cable or equipment under test to verify insulation strength before commissioning or after a repair.
Impulse Discharge Mode
The charging circuit stores energy in the built-in capacitor and the discharge ball gap releases it as a controllable high energy pulse, which is used for flashover fault testing and acoustic-magnetic synchronized fault point fixing on power cables of 35kV and below. The ball suction time is fixed at 0.05s and the disconnection time can be set from 4s to 9s on site.
Panel and Accessories
The front panel groups the DC and EMP high voltage outputs, safety ground, time setting, voltmeter, start / stop buttons, voltage adjustment knob, discharge button and ammeter together for intuitive operation. The complete set ships with the host, power cable, transparent ground wire, high voltage output line, discharge rod and fuses.
