Integrating a micro-moisture meter, a purity tester and a decomposition product analyzer into a single unit, this device combines the functions that previously required three separate instruments. A single on-site measurement enables the testing of three indicators, which significantly reduces gas consumption for the equipment, cutting gas usage by two-thirds per measurement and boosting work efficiency substantially.
Sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) is the preferred insulating and arc-extinguishing medium for high-voltage switchgear, circuit breakers, gas-insulated switchgear and gas-insulated lines. The quality of the gas determines the reliability of the equipment: excessive moisture causes condensation and flashover, low purity weakens insulation, and decomposition products reveal internal discharge and arcing activity. This tester delivers all three answers in one connection.
With the dew point measured in 5 minutes and the purity and decomposition products measured in 2 minutes, the instrument keeps testing time to a minimum. The original German imported self-locking connectors guarantee a leak-free gas path, and the built-in 4Ah rechargeable lithium battery provides 10 hours of continuous operation for full-day inspection programs in industrial plants and factories.

SF6 equipment passes through six stages in its service life. The tester supports the gas quality verification required at every stage, from first filling to final decommissioning.
| Lifecycle Stage | Activity | Testing Requirement |
|---|---|---|
| 1. New gas acceptance | Receiving new SF6 gas from the supplier | Verify purity and dew point before filling into the equipment |
| 2. Installation and filling | Filling the equipment with SF6 after assembly | Confirm the dew point and purity after the first filling |
| 3. Commissioning | Putting the equipment into service | Baseline measurement of dew point, purity and decomposition products |
| 4. Routine monitoring | Periodic preventive tests during operation | Compare with the baseline to detect moisture ingress and discharge activity |
| 5. Gas top-up and repair | Topping up gas or repairing after a fault | Measure decomposition products to assess internal arcing damage |
| 6. Decommissioning and recovery | Removing the equipment from service | Final gas quality record before gas recovery and recycling |
A stable dew point within the equipment specification indicates a healthy seal and drying system. A rising dew point trend between tests warns of moisture ingress through seals or gaskets, and requires investigation before the moisture level reaches the condensation risk zone.
Purity close to the rated value confirms the insulation and arc-extinguishing capability of the gas. A noticeable purity drop indicates contamination or leakage, and the gas should be topped up or treated before the equipment is returned to full service.
Low and stable H2S, SO2 and CO values mean no significant discharge activity. Rising SO2 and H2S values indicate internal arcing or partial discharge and call for internal inspection; rising CO indicates decomposition of organic materials such as seals and insulation.
