XHSB505B Cable Identifier
The cable identifier is specially designed for power cable engineers and electric power industry workers to solve cable identification problems. Its working principle is that the transmitter outputs regular pulse signals applied to the cable to be identified, generating induced signals consistent with the transmitted signal along the cable. The receiving clamp and receiver convert, detect and identify the signal, and by observing the amplitude, pulse number and polarity displayed on the receiver, the target cable can be identified among multiple cables in the trench. This product has both live cable identification and de-energized cable identification functions, meeting the multiple needs of cable identification at power construction sites. It consists of a transmitter, transmitting clamp, receiver and flexible receiving clamp.
Applications & Target Audience: Engineered for power cable engineers and electric power industry workers who need to identify target cables in multi-cable trenches, ducts and cable trays during power construction, maintenance and repair work, supporting both live and de-energized identification.
Key Features
- Live cable identification and de-energized cable identification in one instrument, meeting multiple site requirements.
- Transmitter outputs 800Hz pulse signals with selectable level I (145V) and level II (240V), and 0 ~ 10A output current.
- Built-in large-capacity rechargeable lithium battery (12.6V 5200mAh) with over 4 hours of continuous work, short-circuit protection, overheat protection and battery level indication.
- Portable ABS housing design; the ammeter pointer swings regularly and the power light flashes dynamically when transmitting signals.
- Transmitting clamp with φ105mm jaw opening couples signals onto the target cable with direction indication; flexible receiving clamp (Rogowski coil) with about 200mm inner diameter suits thick cables or irregular conductors.
- Receiver with 3.2-inch color LCD screen, high-speed microprocessor and precise algorithm, displaying signal amplitude, pulse number, polarity and detection result in real time.
- Signal calibration function: when amplitude, pulse number and polarity all match, the status bar displays "Target Cable"; otherwise "Non-target Cable".
- 1 ~ 8 level gain adjustment, non-contact measurement, safe and fast.

FAQ
Q1: Who is this cable identifier designed for?
It is designed for power cable engineers and electric power industry workers who need to identify target cables in multi-cable trenches, ducts and cable trays during power construction, maintenance and repair work.
Q2: Can it identify cables in both live and de-energized conditions?
Yes. It supports both live cable identification (three-core armored cables via transmitting clamp coupling) and de-energized cable identification (direct connection), covering multiple site requirements.
Q3: What are the main output specifications of the transmitter?
The transmitter outputs 800Hz pulse signals with selectable level I (145V) and level II (240V), 0 to 10A output current, powered by a 12.6V 5200mAh rechargeable battery for over 4 hours of continuous work.
Q4: How does it confirm the target cable?
When amplitude, pulse number and polarity all match the calibrated signal, the receiver shows "√" for all three and displays "Target Cable" on the status bar; non-target cables show "×" and "Non-target Cable".
Q5: What makes this cable identifier different from a conventional cable tester?
It combines a flexible receiving clamp (Rogowski coil, about 200mm inner diameter) for thick or irregular cables, an 800Hz pulse direction detection method, 1 to 8 level gain adjustment, and a portable ABS housing design with short-circuit and overheat protection.
