Product Description
XHSC-60Q Digital Burn Through Bridge | Fast, Certain Cable Fault Pre-Location for Service Teams

The XHSC-60Q integrates a 60kV burn-through unit, a high-current digital bridge and an intelligent fault diagnosis function in one trolley case. High-resistance and flashover faults are burned down to stable low-resistance faults with up to 400mA arc current, then pre-located by the 750mA digital bridge or cross-section mode with ±(0.1%·L+1)m accuracy over 1 to 50000m. One-key automatic operation, automatic wiring and earth checks, and automatic discharge make it a dependable daily tool for field service crews.

Target Audience: Third-party cable testing and fault location service providers, cable condition assessment companies, and utility-contracted fault response teams that pre-locate insulation faults on MV/HV cable networks for multiple clients, and need a fast, repeatable, one-person workflow from fault type diagnosis to distance readout on every job.

XHSC-60Q digital burn through bridge 60kV 400mA cable fault pre-locator front panel
Built for Contract Fault-Location Work
  • Three jobs in one case: intelligent diagnosis, 60kV/400mA burn-through, and 4kV/750mA bridge and cross-section pre-location
  • Bridge method has no blind zone, unlike reflectometry, so short cables and faults close to terminations are located reliably
  • Intelligent burn-through stops automatically when the fault impedance reaches the ranging requirement, saving billable time
  • One-key automation with on-screen guidance suits rotating field technicians and reduces training cost
  • Automatic wiring check and protective-earth detection protect crews and equipment on unfamiliar sites
  • 100 stored history records support report writing for every client contract
  • Sunlight-readable 320x240 LCD works on sunny cable routes and in dark manholes
  • Trolley case with casters, 22kg, IP54: moves easily between service vehicles and job sites
Smart Diagnosis: One Workflow from Fault Type to Pre-Location

Instead of guessing the fault nature first, the XHSC-60Q runs an automatic intelligent diagnosis at up to 60kV and tells you exactly what to do next. This is how the built-in workflow decides the fastest route to the fault distance:

Diagnosis ResultAutomatic Guidance
Low-resistance fault (impedance shown)Go directly to bridge mode or cross-section mode for distance measurement
High-resistance fault (impedance shown)Raise the test voltage and retest, or start burn-through directly
Flashover below 3kV, current stable above 20mA after breakdownGo directly to bridge mode or cross-section mode
Flashover above 3kV, or current unstable / below 20mARun burn-through first, then pre-locate
Impedance within safe operating rangeCable passes; no fault found

In burn-through mode the unit outputs up to 60kV with a 400mA arc current to carbonize high-resistance and flashover faults into stable low-resistance faults. With the intelligent burn-through function enabled, the test stops automatically as soon as the fault impedance drops to the level required by the ranging modes, instead of running the full preset time. The bridge accuracy can be verified on site with the supplied bridge test box (33.3% reference line) whenever a suspicious reading appears.

  • One-key automatic operation: the unit diagnoses, burns and pre-locates without complex menu work
  • Automatic wiring check with protective-earth detection prevents unsafe starts
  • Automatic discharge at test end; emergency stop button cuts HV output instantly
  • Up to 100 history records stored for bridge and cross-section results
  • 320x240 dot-matrix LCD readable in direct sunlight
FAQ
Q1: Who is the XHSC-60Q designed for?
Third-party cable testing and fault location service providers, cable condition assessment companies and utility-contracted fault response teams that pre-locate MV/HV cable insulation faults for multiple clients and need consistent results on every job.
Q2: How does it locate faults that TDR cannot find?
The built-in digital bridge measures resistance ratios instead of travel time, so it has no blind zone. Short cables and faults very close to the cable end, which are difficult for pulse reflection methods, are pre-located directly with ±(0.1%·L+1)m accuracy.
Q3: What happens when the fault is high-resistance or flashover?
The intelligent diagnosis identifies the fault type first. For high-resistance and flashover faults, burn-through mode applies up to 60kV with a 400mA arc current until the fault becomes a stable low-resistance fault; with intelligent burn-through enabled the unit stops automatically once the impedance is low enough for ranging.
Q4: Is it safe for crews working on unfamiliar sites?
Yes. The unit performs an automatic wiring check and protective-earth detection before allowing HV output, has an emergency stop that cuts high voltage instantly, discharges the cable automatically at test end, and a discharge rod and dedicated earth lead are supplied in the standard kit.
Q5: What are the commercial terms for service companies?
MOQ is 1 unit, price negotiable, T/T payment, delivery in 8-10 working days, supply capacity 200 units per month. Each unit is CE certified with a 12-month warranty, on-site/online training support and long-term spare parts supply from the Xi'an factory.
