Pipeline detection range |
Direct connection method: Generally, the cable length can reach 0~20 kilometers, which is mainly determined by the ground resistance, cable resistance and cable burial depth. Coupling method: Generally, the cable length can reach 0~10 kilometers, which is mainly determined by the ground resistance, cable resistance and cable burial depth. Cables buried less than 2m deep |

| Pipeline measurement depth | 0-20m |

True or False Tips |
Eliminate interference from adjacent cables. When measuring adjacent cables, the measurement of adjacent cables can be distinguished based on the different signal strengths and measured current phases fed back by the adjacent cables. During the cable tracking process, observe the phase table. The disk and pointer point to distinguish the tested cable from the adjacent cables |
| Sound Instructions | FM tone that varies with signal strength |
| Anti-interference display | Green: No interference Green: Good (results are reliable ) Red: Severe interference (results are unreliable ) |
Anti-interference ability |
The extremely narrow receiving frequency band and unique digital processing method can fully suppress the power frequency and harmonic interference of nearby running cables and pipelines. |
Interference distance |
When using the coupling method and the induction method, the transmitter will generate interference within a short distance. The interference distance is related to the transmission power and frequency. The greater the power and the higher the frequency, the stronger the interference. The minimum distance at which a receiver is not disturbed by a transmitter often requires experimental determination: Pipeline detection: Coupling method can confirm no interference beyond 5m , induction method can confirm no interference beyond 20m Cable identification: Coupling method can confirm no interference beyond 2~5m |
Cable identification |
Identification method:flexible caliper intelligent identification; number of cables that can be calibrated: 1 to 20 ; Calibration value: The current percentage of the received signal and the transmitted signal is between 75% and 135% of the calibration value, which is one of the conditions for successful identification; Directionality: The transmitting clamp, receiving clamp and loading signal must be in the same direction, which is one of the conditions for successful identification. |
Cable identification detection range |
Direct connection method: can identify signals with loop resistance of 0Ω~8kΩ (usually can reach cable length of 0~20 kilometers , mainly determined by ground resistance and cable resistance) Coupling method: can identify signals with a loop resistance of 0Ω to 1kΩ ; (generally can reach a cable length of 0~ 6cm (mainly determined by grounding resistance and cable resistance) |

Q: Is the XHGX507C suitable for pre-construction utility surveying and regulatory compliance?
Yes. The XHGX507C is specifically designed for pre-construction utility surveys required before excavation, trenching, or directional drilling. Its ability to detect both energized (50Hz passive mode) and de-energized cables (transmitter modes) provides comprehensive underground utility mapping that supports regulatory compliance and helps prevent costly cable strikes.
Q: How does the instrument handle sites with multiple overlapping utilities?
The combination of multi-frequency operation, current measurement, and dual antenna modes provides multiple strategies for resolving utility congestion. By comparing signal responses at different frequencies and measuring current levels, operators can isolate individual utilities even in densely packed underground corridors. The Trough mode provides additional precision for final route confirmation.
Q: What documentation can be produced from field surveys?
The instrument's LCD display provides real-time depth and current readings that can be recorded manually on site plans. For professional survey deliverables, operators typically mark cable paths and depths with spray paint and document findings with photographs and written records. GPS-enabled data logging accessories may be available for integration with GIS mapping systems.
Q: Can it detect non-metallic pipes such as PVC or HDPE?
Like all electromagnetic induction-based locators, the XHGX507C detects metallic objects by their electrical conductivity. Non-metallic pipes (PVC, HDPE, concrete) cannot be detected directly. However, if these pipes contain metallic tracer wires (commonly installed alongside plastic pipes during construction), the instrument can detect the tracer wire. For pure non-metallic pipe detection, ground-penetrating radar (GPR) would be required as a complementary technology.
Q: What warranty and support is provided?
12-month standard warranty against manufacturing defects with lifetime technical support. CE and ISO 9001:2015 certified. Complete kit includes receiver, transmitter, connection cables, coupling clamp, ground rod, rechargeable batteries, chargers, user manual, and rugged transport case. On-site training and extended warranty options are available for engineering consultancy firms.
