Product Description

0.10m Resolution at a Mid-Range Price — Best-in-Class Precision. The XHGG501E delivers 0.10m minimum resolution on a 65km range with an 80MHz variable sampling engine — precision that outperforms every other instrument at its price point. Combine this with an optional DC 35kV coupler (no forced bundle) and an upgrade path to 8-pulse ARC multi-pulse testing, and the XHGG501E becomes the most flexible investment in cable fault diagnostics.

The XHGG501E ARC Cable Fault Pre-Locator integrates a 10.1-inch industrial full-color TFT touchscreen with an embedded system, offering stable, intuitive operation in the field. Built with industrial-grade components and a high-capacity 5200mAH lithium battery with fast charging, it performs signal filtering, high-speed acquisition, data processing, and waveform analysis to determine cable wave speed, total length, and fault distance. The instrument detects the full spectrum of cable faults — low-resistance, short-circuit, open-circuit, disconnection, leakage high-resistance, and flashover high-resistance — on power cables, high-frequency coaxial cables, street light cables, and buried wires across all cross-sections and dielectric media. All technical indicators, anti-interference performance, and metrological calibration comply with GB/T 18268.1, DL/T 849.1-2019, and JJF1042-2020 standards.

Buy What You Need — Upgrade When Ready

Unlike instruments that bundle expensive accessories into a mandatory purchase, the XHGG501E ships as a fully-capable standalone unit covering TDR (low-voltage pulse) and impulse high-voltage flashover methods. The DC 35kV pulse coupler and 8-pulse ARC multi-pulse capability are optional — purchase them with the instrument, or add them later when your testing requirements expand. No forced bundle. No wasted budget on features you don't yet need.

With Optional CouplerStandard + DC 35kV coupler + HV cables A & B + grounding wireAll above + 8-pulse ARC multi-pulse for complex high-impedance faults
Key Capabilities
  • 0.10m Best-in-Class Resolution: 80MHz variable-frequency sampling (80/40/10/2/1MHz) achieves 0.10m minimum resolution — over 5* finer than standard 0.5m instruments at a comparable price point. Identify faults between adjacent cable joints with confidence.
  • 10.1-inch 280nit TFT Touch Display: 1024*600 resolution with ultra-bright LED backlight. Full-color capacitive touchscreen remains sharp and operable under direct sunlight. Dual-mode: touch for navigation, coded push-button for gloved-hand control.
  • Three Test Modes, Flexible Configuration: LV pulse (100V±15%, 5 selectable widths from 0.125μs to 10.0μs) works standalone. HV flashover method for leakage and flashover faults. 8-pulse ARC multi-pulse — when paired with the optional DC 35kV coupler — simultaneously displays 8 groups of high/low voltage waveform comparisons for unambiguous fault distance determination.
  • Fully Automatic Operation: Automatic continuous sampling never misses a transient discharge waveform. Automatic range setting selects from 5 presets (300m/1km/5km/25km/65km). Automatic waveform analysis identifies the fault reflection and displays the distance — no manual cursor placement needed.
  • 8,000+ Waveform Storage with USB Export: Massive onboard memory stores over 8,000 LV/HV waveform records and 250+ multi-pulse records. Chinese naming support for organized field archiving. USB interface exports all waveform files to PC software for secondary analysis and formal report generation.
  • 2-Hour Fast Charge, 5+ Hour Field Operation: Built-in 5200mAH lithium battery charges from empty to full in approximately 2 hours and sustains over 5 hours of continuous testing. Test open-circuit and low-resistance faults entirely on battery — no mains power, no generator required for these fault types.
  • IP54 Rugged Chassis, -20℃~+65℃: Dust-protected and splash-proof protective casing designed for demanding outdoor construction and substation environments. Functions reliably from winter cold to summer heat.
  • Embedded System with 8000+ Record Management: Purpose-built embedded architecture — stable, secure, low-power. Powerful data processing system supports classified storage, retrieval, and management of waveform test records at the instrument level.

Absolute workhorse for our utility crew,I’ve used this cable fault tester on underground power lines across Ohio suburbs for four months straight. Last Tuesday, we located a water-soaked cable short under a residential driveway in Columbus; it pinpointed the fault within 3 feet. It blocks signal interference perfectly amid dense parallel power lines in neighborhood subdivisions. The heavy-duty shell survives bouncing around our work trucks, and the battery stays charged through full field shifts. It slashes our digging hours and never fails on emergency service calls.
