Product Description

Designed for Geophysical Survey Contractors & Utility Locating Service Providers. The XHGX507C1 is a multi-frequency intelligent integrated cable and pipeline locator purpose-built for the professional survey teams who are contracted to map, verify, and document underground utility infrastructure before excavation, construction, or infrastructure development.

The XHGX507C1 Multi-Frequency Intelligent Integrated Cable Path Tester delivers the precision, range, and documentation capability demanded by professional utility locating service providers. Whether executing a full-site utility survey for a pre-construction due diligence package, mapping undocumented legacy pipelines for GIS database population, or verifying the precise depth and route of a single critical cable before directional drilling, the instrument provides the measurement certainty that survey reports and legal compliance require. With 11 active detection frequencies from 640Hz to 197kHz, three signal injection methods, and a comprehensive detection range of 20km, the XHGX507C1 is field-ready for the broadest spectrum of utility locating assignments — from congested urban intersections with dozens of overlapping utilities to remote cross-country pipeline corridor verification.

XHGX507C1 Pipeline Locator

Built for the Survey Contractor — What Matters on the Job Site
  • 11 Active Frequencies for Positive Target Identification: 640Hz through 197kHz selectable frequencies allow the operator to positively isolate and trace the target utility from adjacent lines sharing the same trench or corridor. Switch frequencies mid-survey to confirm identification and eliminate false traces — a critical capability when producing utility maps that contractors and engineers rely on for safe excavation decisions.
  • 15W Transmitter with Automatic Impedance Matching: 9-level adjustable output with full autoranging ensures consistent signal quality across varying soil resistivity, from dry sandy backfill to waterlogged clay. Direct connection reaches 20km; coupling clamp method reaches 10km — sufficient for the longest cross-country pipeline corridor surveys.
  • Three Injection Methods for Every Access Scenario: Direct connection (strongest signal, 300V max output), coupling clamp (Φ125mm, non-contact for live cables), and induction (no physical access required, for shallow utilities under 2m). Adapts to the reality of survey sites where access points are limited and live services must not be interrupted.
  • 20-Cable Batch Pre-Calibration with Rogowski Coil: Pre-calibrate up to 20 cables at the transmitter end in a single setup. One trip to the remote end, sequential identification with √/* confirmation per cable. Eliminates the repetitive round-trip calibration that inflates labour hours on congested multi-cable survey jobs — a direct cost-per-kilometre advantage for survey contractors working on fixed-price contracts.
  • Three Detection Modes for QC-Grade Results: 360° wire cruise mode (continuous real-time depth, current, and relative position), classic positioning mode (compass + amplitude), and signal distortion measurement mode (simultaneous peak/trough waveform to flag adjacent-line interference). Rich signal diagnostics provide the data confidence needed to sign off on survey deliverables.
  • Depth Measurement — Dual Method Verification: Automatic depth measurement (0–20m, ±5% within 3m) plus manual 45° sound valley and broad peak 80% methods for cross-validation. Two independent measurement methods on the same instrument provide the redundancy that quality assurance protocols require.
  • Current Direction Analysis (640Hz–3.20kHz): Phase analysis distinguishes the target pipeline from parallel lines sharing the same trench. Essential for accurate utility mapping in dense urban corridors where gas, water, power, and telecom share a common easement.
  • Ultra-Narrowband Digital Filtering: Suppresses power-frequency and harmonic interference from adjacent live high-voltage cables. Built-in sweep frequency analysis identifies optimal operating frequencies before testing begins — reducing false traces and rework on electro-magnetically noisy sites such as substation perimeters and industrial zones.
  • A-Frame Ground Fault Detection (Optional): Step-voltage method for pinpointing pipeline coating defects and insulation faults. Adds pipeline integrity assessment capability to standard utility locating services — a value-added upsell for existing survey contracts.
  • Dual Sunlight-Readable Touch LCDs: 5-inch transmitter and 4.3-inch receiver capacitive touch displays, Chinese/English bilingual, brightness and standby adjustable. Clear screen visibility in direct sunlight — no screen hoods or shade tents needed on open-field survey sites.
  • Integrated Toolbox Design — One-Person Deployment: Transmitter and receiver housed in a pressure-resistant toolbox case (rated to ~200kg). Single operator can carry the complete kit from vehicle to survey point. IP54-rated protective construction.

Been using this on commercial job sites for about 3 months now. For the money, it's hard to beat. Depth readings are surprisingly accurate — tested it against known lines and was within a few inches every time. The multiple frequency options really help cut through interference in busy areas, and the battery lasts a full workday no problem. Build feels sturdy enough for field use. Only knock: the screen can be a little hard to read in direct sunlight, and the manual's pretty bare-bones. If you're new to locating, expect a learning curve. Overall, great value. Does everything my old name-brand unit did for half the price. Would recommend to any contractor or utility tech on a budget.
