The cable path meter is a special instrument used to accurately detect the direction and depth of buried cables within a certain range. Path detection is completed by the cooperative test of the path signal generator and the path signal receiver; through the cooperative operation between them, the cable path can be accurately positioned within the approximate cable buried range.

Path detection is mainly composed of a path signal generator and a receiver. The path signal generator can generate high-power audio output signals, and the receiver receives the audio signals to complete the path detection function.

Unlike the other instruments in the same category, which are used to locate faults or act as high-voltage sources, this device is a handheld route tracer: a path signal generator injects an audio signal into the cable and a portable receiver follows the signal to determine the cable direction and depth.

The system is made up of two cooperating parts: a path signal generator that injects a high-power audio signal into the cable, and a path receiver that picks up the audio signal so the cable's buried depth and direction can be determined. Working together, the two parts accurately position the cable path within the approximate buried range.

The generator is powered from the 220V mains, and its output signal voltage and power vary with the load. If the output terminal is short-circuited the device protects itself immediately; once the short-circuit condition is removed, pressing the start button restores normal operation.

The gain is ≥100dB, the signal strength is shown on an LED display, power comes from a lithium battery, and the volume is digitally adjusted. The positioning accuracy and depth measurement accuracy are both ±5% of depth, and the depth measurement range is 5 meters.

Connect the probe and press the power button for 5 seconds to turn on the receiver; the line connected by the smallest sound point heard when the probe is vertical to the ground is the buried path of the buried cable.

If the output terminal is short-circuited, the device is protected immediately. After the load short-circuit state is removed, press the start button and the device resumes normal operation.
