DC resistance testing is an essential procedure for transformers—required at every stage from semi-finished/finished product factory checks to installation, handover, and routine preventive maintenance by power authorities. This test pinpoints critical issues including substandard coil materials, poor welding, loose joints, missing conductor strands, and wire breakages during manufacturing, as well as hidden risks after the transformer is put into operation. To address the need for efficient DC resistance measurement, our company has engineered the Transformer DC Resistance Tester, drawing on our proprietary technical expertise. This next-generation tester combines magnetizing testing, three-phase measurement (Yn, Y, △), and demagnetization capabilities, establishing it as the top choice for measuring DC resistance in large power transformers. Test wiring:
For the high-voltage test terminal (longer), connect the yellow, green, red, and black test clamps to the A, B, C, and O bushings of the high-voltage end of the test object (if there is no neutral point O bushing, simply leave the black test clamp unconnected); for the low-voltage test terminal (shorter), connect the yellow, green, red, and black test clamps to the a, b, c, and O bushings of the low-voltage end of the test object (if there is no neutral point O bushing, simply leave the black test clamp unconnected).Single-phase transformers use high-voltage A and O terminals and low-voltage a and O terminals.
