Product Description

The XHJF801B is a four-in-one multifunctional partial discharge (PD) tester engineered for on-site live detection of high-voltage electrical equipment. Integrating non-contact/contact ultrasonic (AA/AE), transient earth voltage (TEV), high-frequency (HF) and ultra-high-frequency (UHF) detection, it enables utility crews and substation maintenance teams to quickly locate insulation defects in switchgear, GIS, transformers and cable systems during energized operation, reducing unplanned outages and improving grid reliability.

XHJF801B

Target Audience

Designed for field inspection & live detection teams:

  • Substation & distribution network O&M crews performing energized (live) PD inspection
  • Cable line maintenance teams testing cable joints, terminations and shielded leads
  • Power utility field engineers conducting condition-based maintenance (CBM) of switchgear and GIS

Key Features

  • Four-in-one detection: ultrasonic (AA/AE), TEV, HF and UHF in a single handheld instrument
  • Advanced RF & high-frequency signal processing for high sensitivity and anti-interference on site
  • Built-in non-contact air-coupled sensor; optional external surface-coupled ultrasonic sensor
  • Phase-linear, PRPD and PRPS analysis windows for intuitive discharge diagnosis
  • Data storage, viewing, deletion and waveform recording for on-site reporting
  • Multi-level attention/alarm thresholds with color-coded amplitude prompts
  • Large-capacity lithium battery for 6~8 hours of continuous field operation
  • Linux embedded OS for convenient future function expansion

Applications

  • On-site live detection of switchgear (switch cabinets) and GIS
  • Cable joints, terminations and high-voltage cable insulation
  • Power transformers and bushings during energized inspection
  • Busbars, insulators and other live electrical equipment

FAQ

What equipment can the XHJF801B test on site?
It covers switchgear, GIS, power transformers, bushings, high-voltage cables and cable joints. With four detection methods (ultrasonic, TEV, HF and UHF), it adapts to different equipment types and field conditions.
Can it perform live (energized) detection without outage?
Yes. The XHJF801B is designed for non-intrusive, live detection per the live-detection technical specification. Sensors are placed near the equipment surface or grounding leads, so no power outage is required.
Which detection method should I use for switchgear?
For switchgear, TEV (transient earth voltage) and ultrasonic (AA/AE) are the primary methods. TEV detects internal discharge on the cabinet surface, while ultrasonic locates surface discharge and corona.
How long does the battery last for a full day of inspection?
The large-capacity lithium battery provides about 6 hours of continuous operation on a single charge, sufficient for a full shift of field inspection. Charging time is about 2~4 hours.
Can it save data and waveforms for my inspection report?
Yes. It supports data storage, viewing and deletion, plus waveform recording. Files can be exported to a USB drive (FAT32) for reporting and archiving.
